One down….two to go! It was a SUCCESSFUL first day.

Setup went smoothly, the tattoo enthusiasts, and potential customers began to trickle in.  The sound of buzzing machines signaled the start of business for a handful of booths.  As soon as Lucky started tattooing Aimee Duran of the Duke City Darlins ( http://www.dukecityfix.com/profile/DukeCityDarlins ) more people were attracted to the booth…and so it started…Lucky, Pino, and Nick tattooed…and tattooed…and tattooed…until security had to force them to stop since it was 11pm!  Closing time…and they were still going!  We expect to have the national guard called in to have us leave tonight…we’re allready busy with all four artists doing their thing…and we’re only three hours into the day.  Things won’t shut down until 11 again…so if you’re reading this, come on by!

Welcome to the Duke City Ink Blog!

We’re excited to place our first blog post for Duke City Ink…and only days before the “Rock the Ink” tattoo convention in Albuquerque.  You can find the whole Duke City Ink crew at Rock the Ink this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (October 8th, 9th, and 10th) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (formerly Isleta Casino).

If you’re not familiar with us, please stop by, introduce yourself, and then get tattooed by one of us.  There you will find Lucky, Pino, Nick, and Dave Briggs…among other friends and associates of Duke City Ink.

This year, the promoters of Rock the Ink are NOT allowing anyone to get their FIRST tattoo at the convention, SO, if you’re interested in getting tattooed by us at the convention and you don’t have any tattoos, please come see us at 5610 Menaul NE, just a few blocks east of San Mateo.  We’re located on the south side of the street.  Look for “TATTOO” in the roadside marquis.  Get your first in our shop and then you’re good to go for Rock the Ink.

For those of you that already have appointments during the convention…we’ll see you there!  If you’re reading this…please follow our blog and send friends and other tattoo enthusiasts.  We’ll be posting regular Duke City Ink news and other art and tattoo news as it relates to the local industry in Albuquerque and around New Mexico!
